Just as the title says. My laptop died right after Christmas break. I've really been missing blogging. There's been a lot going on and a lot happening as far as spiritual life and life as an art teacher.
As of right now, I'm praying to the Lord and trusting my finances completely in him. I've been church shopping for the last few weeks. I'm saving up money to get a Macbook and a few other things that I want to be my goals for the semester (like setting up my studio in my house)....I'm also really needing to tithe into the Kingdom somewhere around me. I've visited a lot of Baptist churches because that's all there is here in a small southern town in Tennessee. I haven't been a fan of many of them. I need a church with life and energy. A place where I can go and worship without feeling judged, feeling free to worship the way I desire.
I recently visited a church called Love and Truth Church in Jackson. I absolutely LOVE it. The catch is that it's a good hour drive from my house but I'm going to continue to pray about it.
I started a new semester of high school at Perry Co and I'm getting a new group of students. I have created a lot of changes that I will elaborate on in the next several entries. It is going GREAT so far. The Lord's been blessing me hugely this semester, I can already tell it's going to be a great one....
Lord, thank you for being the center of my life and thank you for giving me this life of mine. I'm handing over all of my finances to you and I am trusting you that you will bless me and that my life will continue to prosper. Help me find a home church that challenges me spiritually and at the same time uplifts and encourages me each day. I pray for my heart everyday when I wake up and drive to school and teach. I want my heart to break for these students. Help me express compassion and love for them. Help me to push them not just academically but spiritually as well. I pray that you will just shine a light through me that they will be able to see and be drawn to, that they won't be seeing me, they will be seeing You. And that my approach to them will help them realize that there is an everlasting God that loves the unconditionally and will never leave them nor foresake them. Thank you for giving me this life, thank you for blessing me with my gifts, thank you for giving me a heart to teach, thank you for the wonderful things that will happen this semester with class and with all my students.
Amen.
