What does a girl do?

When you've been out of school for a week due to snow and you are SICK IN BED? Alright, it wasn't the whole week I was sick...it was Saturday night actually. I woke up at 2am in cold sweats, my heart pounding out of my chest, indigestion, bloating and nausea. I knew it wasn't the flu because I didn't have a fever. The only thing I could make a connection to was it was food poisoning.. I had a very yucky combination of food that day and I'm sure it was my body punishing me for treating it so badly. I was absolutely miserable. I tried to sleep it off but it was useless trying to sleep. So I just laid in bed until 7:30. I absolutely HATE throwing up so I was going to do everything in my power to not go that route. I got up just enough energy to take a shower and put on my shoes and hoodie to drive across the street to the store. Doing all that in itself was making me even more exhausted. I have never felt that miserable before. At the store I stocked up on Peptobismol, lemon ginger tea, peppermint tea, Nyquil, chicken noodle soup, and grapes (for when my appetite came back).

I carried my stuff back to my apartment and as soon as I stepped back in I collapsed in the kitchen. I didn't pass out but I was light headed and lost my balance. After that I stuck my booty in bed and didn't leave until I was feeling better. I doped myself up on Pepto which helped but didn't make everything go away. I took melatonin to help me rest and that didn't work surprisingly. So I drank water and tea all day long. Make a long story short, I'm finally cured and healed of my yucky sickness. Woke up this morning feeling like a million bucks!

Out of all of that I bought at the grocery store, the peppermint and lemon ginger tea worked MIRACLES for me. They soothed my stomach and really reduced my nausea, bloating and indigestion. I've not been a big fan of many hot teas in my lifetime but this situation has made me become a huge lover. I drink tea all the time now, especially peppermint tea.

Out of that whole situation, as much as I hated it and would not wish it on anybody, I'm glad the Lord gave me a reminder to make my body a temple and to take good care of it. Thank you Lord. :)
