"Meet Me in St. Louis"

So do you remember the amazing trip to Destin I was supposed to be taking this past week?

Long story short... it got cancelled for personal family reasons. (not from me, from my friend Liz.)

I was home for the week and my parents were watching me be completely bummed about my trip being cancelled. They felt bad because they knew how bad I wanted to go to the beach. So my stepdad , Mike asks "Well would you still want to go on a long weekend vacation?" After making a few phone calls the only ones available for a vacation in June would be myself, Matt and my closest guy friend Barry. The three of us decided to go to St. Louis, MO for a four day weekend. I had actually never been before, it's only about 4 hours away from Jackson, and they have a ton of things we could do for fairly cheap (Six Flags being the ultimate one:) ) To make another long story short, my stepdad booked us a hotel room for my birthday at the Hilton Inn St. Louis Frontenac.

And I must say this hotel is AMAZING.

The plan is to pick up Barry after work in Martin, TN this Thursday at noon, drive up to the hotel to check in and then roam around the city looking for some good eats. The three of us decided to go the Travel Channel's Man vs. Food route and go to all the restaurants Adam ate at when he was in St Louis.

Other than pig out on some awesome BBQ and milkshakes, we're gonna head on over to Six Flags and spend the entire day there Friday along with playtime at the City Museum and going to an aerial fireworks show over the St. Louis arch.

Many many pictures to come. See you next week :)

I just want to take this time to say....

If you have different beliefs than me, that's perfectly cool. I'm never ever going to shove my beliefs down someone's throats.

So DO NOT do the same to me.

@$$holes.

Thank you, have a good day.

Favorite moments with Adam.

So last night was the Owl City concert at the Ryman in Nashville. Matt took my for my birthday present (early present anyways)! I was a little iffy on how I think Adam would sounds live because he uses a LOT of electronica in his music. I was blown away because he sounded EXACTLY the same on the stage. He was very shy and timid when he first came out and he loosened up as soon as he started to play his music. It was so sweet! I LOVED the xylophones, violin and cello...

And I leave you with this video footage Matt got of Adam singing "Lonely Lullaby." It brought me to tears. Enjoy :)

HAPPY early birthday to ME.

Oh I forgot to mention this too..

Matt is the most AMAZING boyfriend ever.

Wanna know why?

For my birthday (which is the 22nd) he surprised me with....

Owl City concert tickets. YES.

Back from the grave...

I do not care what people say about being teachers. You can not say that summer breaks are not AWESOME.

That being said--- I have a VERY busy and eventful summer ahead of me. Here are just a few of the happenings going on:

1. I will be interviewing for teaching jobs in Nashville and hopefully be moving there come late July or early August.
Nashville is the city I grew up in and absolutely love. Definitely the best place to live in as far as Nashville goes. Not to mention my family all live just about an hour and a half outside of it. So far I have gone on six interviews. Oh, yeah. You heard me. The places I interviewed for were:

- Walter J Baird Middle School for Lebanon Special School District (I interviewed along with 8 other people. Then I got called back for another interview because I had made her top two applicants. The other applicant turned out to be one of my close friends who forgot to tell me she applied for the same job as me. Turned out she ended up getting it... but it's all cool :))
- Watt Hardison Elementary School for Sumner County Schools (This interview went PERFECT. Can't tell you a single thing that went wrong. I was introduced to all the teachers, staff, administration, some of the students and even was given a tour of the school and art room. At the end of the interview the principal told me that she would love to have me teach there but has to do a few more "mandatory" interview till she can give me call. Never called. So about 2 1/2 weeks later, I did. Told me she filled the position already. Nice to frickin' meet you too.)
- Dickson County High School in Dickson County. (This was an AMAZING high school, but the interview was not that great. The principal did most of the talking... so if I don't get offered this I won't be totally shocked.)
- Lebanon High School for Wilson County. (This was a great interview. The principal, VP and their head art teacher interviewed me together so it was nice to be able to ask a lot of art related questions to their other art teacher that I probably wouldn't be able to ask the others. They loved all my work and all my answers so... chances are pretty good with this one.)
- Byards Dowdy Elementary School for Lebanon Special School District. (Out of all the schools I applied for, this one would be my top pick. It pays the most, but the program is funded best. Not to mention it's the elementary ages which I am incredibly itching to get back to working with. Plus the administration are two female teachers who are still fairly young and vivacious about teaching, They're amazingly sweet. They said they will let me know something at the end of this week. LET'S BELIEVE AND PRAY!)

2. I'm taking a vacation to the beach for the first time in FOUR years.
YES... THANK...YOU....JESUS. I'll be going at the end of June with my friend Liz from college, her boyfriend, her sister and her sister's friends and of course my awesome boyfriend Matt. We will have a blast and definitely expect some pics.

3. Catching up on some reading.
I'm currently finishing up The Hunger Games which is FANTAS
